We are an independent, 501 3(c), non-profit organization founded in September 1996 in Tampa, Florida, USA. The mission of our organization is to positively impact pharmaceutical care delivery within our communities in the United States and in Nigeria.
Our organization cares about the development of our Nigerian professional communities both in the US and abroad. We implement our mission through four initiatives: 1. continuing education, 2. community service, 3. professional networking and 4. scholarship endowment.
The organization was established by a group of business oriented pharmacists with the intention of bringing together Nigerian pharmacists through continuing education, fellowship, charitable contributions and scholarship endowment. Since its founding, the organization has grown to over 100 registered pharmacists and 60 registered allied health professionals. Annually we host our ACPE accredited CE Symposium, that brings together pharmacists, physicians and health care professionals.
To further the advancement of our organization’s professionals, the NPA collaborates annually to provide a rich educational program known as the Annual NPA CE Symposium. This program is conducted in collaboration with educational institutions and sponsors. Our programs generally hosts approx. 200+ healthcare professionals.
The NPA provides patient outreach within our local communities and to in need communities in Nigeria. The NPA Health Fair Series, is one such local program in which the unique skill sets and expertise of our members help educate local communities on current healthcare topics. We offer free blood pressure screenings, cholesterol screenings and diabetes screenings along with free healthcare consultation on medication therapy.
The NPA is a networking organization striving to provide networking opportunities for our healthcare professionals through the conduction of social events, such as the “NPA Members Only Banquet”. It is by such activities that the NPA promotes organization engagement, professional socializing, and membership appreciation.
The NPA support the pharmacy students through an endowed scholarship program established at the Taneja College of Pharmacy at the University of South Florida.
